Run Stronger.
Challenge yourself.

UESCA-certified running coaching for busy adults - starting from where you are.

About Me

I’m Ben - a runner, coach, dad, and someone who came to endurance sport the long way round.I didn’t grow up as a natural athlete, and I didn’t fall into running because I was “built for it.” I found it later - when life was already busy, responsibilities were already stacked up, and time was already the hardest thing to come by. Running started as a way to clear my head. It became a way to challenge myself. Over time, it turned into something much deeper.Since then, I’ve trained for and completed everything from road races to ultras, trail events, and some genuinely uncomfortable endurance challenges. I’ve spent long days on my feet, learnt what happens when training doesn’t fit your life, and figured out how to keep showing up when motivation disappears, and consistency is the only thing left. That experience is the foundation of how I coach.I’m a UESCA-certified running coach, but more importantly, I coach real people - busy adults with jobs, families, shifting schedules, and lives that don’t revolve around training plans. I don’t believe in forcing runners into rigid programmes or chasing goals that look impressive on paper but fall apart in the real world.Instead, I work with where you are right now.Your background.
Your schedule.
Your goals - whether that’s your first 5k, a marathon, an ultra, or simply feeling stronger and more confident when you run.
I care just as much about sustainability as I do performance. That means building training that fits your life, adapts when life inevitably changes, and helps you grow without burning out. Progress doesn’t have to be extreme to be meaningful - it just has to be consistent.Trailhead Run Co. exists because I believe running should add something to your life, not compete with it. Whether you’re running solo, turning up to a run club, or lining up on a start line wondering if you really belong there - you do.And I’d love to help you find your next step.

How I Work

Coaching isn’t about handing you a rigid plan and hoping life behaves itself. It’s a conversation - one that evolves as you do.I start by getting to know you: your background, your running history (or lack of one), your goals, your schedule, and the realities of your day-to-day life. From there, we build a plan that fits around what’s already there, rather than trying to force everything else to bend around training.Your coaching will always be:Personalised - built around your experience, goals, and available timeFlexible - adjusted when life, work, family, or energy levels changeProgressive - focused on steady improvement, not rushed resultsYou’ll know why you’re doing each session, not just what’s written on the plan. That understanding is what builds confidence and long-term consistency.I don’t coach by chasing perfection or pushing people until something breaks. Instead, we focus on showing up regularly, learning from how your body responds, and making sensible adjustments along the way. Some weeks will feel strong. Others won’t - and that’s all part of the process.Communication matters too. Coaching isn’t something that happens once a week on paper. You’ll have ongoing support, space to ask questions, and honest feedback when you need it - whether that’s encouragement to ease off or confidence to push a little further.Ultimately, my job is to help you become a more confident, capable runner - not just for your next race or goal, but for whatever comes after that as well.

Run The Line

Run The Line is a shared training journey - not a single race, and not a one-off challenge. It’s built around the idea of choosing a line, committing to showing up, and seeing where that takes you.For some, that line might be a 5k obstacle race.
For others, it might be something longer - or something that comes after.
What it looks likeRun The Line follows a simple structure:- A 12-week training plan, designed to build consistency, strength, and confidence- One coached group run per week, training together in person- A shared race goal, where we line up and take it on together- A free Trailhead technical training top, so everyone feels part of the same journeyThe initial focus will be events like Tough Mudder and Spartan, but Run The Line isn’t limited to one race or one distance. This is about progression, not ticking a single box. Some people will stop after the first event.
Others will find themselves looking for the next challenge.
Both outcomes are valid.Who it’s forRun The Line is for you if:- You like the idea of training with others, not in isolation- You want structure, but not something that takes over your life- You’re curious about events like Tough Mudder or Spartan, but don’t want to jump in alone- You’re ready to commit to a block of training - without needing to know the final destination yetYou don’t need to be fast.
You don’t need previous race experience.
You just need to be willing to show up.
